Who can find a virtuous woman?
for her price is far above rubies.....
She seeketh wool, and flax,
and worketh willingly with her hands......
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good:
her candle goeth not out by night......
She layeth her hands to the spindle,
and her hands hold the distaff......
She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea,
she reacheth forth her hands to the needy......
She is not afraid of the snow for her household:
for all her household are clothed with scarlet..........
She maketh herself coverings of tapestry;
her clothing is silk and purple............
She maketh fine linen, and selleth it;
and delivereth girdles unto the merchant..........
My little gals have been trying out their new homemaking skills. Between the two of them they have prepared us for winter by knitting a scarf for each of us.
I think they were a little disappointed that there were only ten of us to clothe.
They use the "homespun" style of yarn and it produces a soft and warm scarf, that their brothers will be thankful to have at chore time during the winter.
Since they have ran out of bodies to care for here at home they have decided, in the spirit of Proverbs 31 to make some for the homeless shelter in IF and to make a few to sell. To give them a jump start I am buying one and having a give away here on my blog. All you need to do to enter is leave a comment or send me an email letting me know you want to enter. If you win I will let you pick the color.......if you don't win you can always buy one from the girls for $10. They will let you pick your color too... :) Drawing ends Oct 1st.
***I have to add this disclaimer. While "she perceives that her merchandise is good" we also need to remember that my girls are young......8 and 10. Therefore you will probably "perceive flaws", all of which adds to the unique charm of a handmade scarf.
